I’ve uploaded an alternate take of “So My Spirit Flies.” On the verse, I have the same muted guitar strumming and guitar finger-picking, but I replaced the hi-hat with a shaker, added an arpeggiated synthesizer sound, and simplified the bass line. For the chorus, there’s the original guitar strumming, but with hand percussion instruments instead of the original drum kit, and another synthesizer sound in the background. Like take two of “The Chase,” I used compression on the final output to keep the tracks at about the same level.

The vocals have a slightly different effect added to them. The lyrics are the same – how, after a day of activities and people you don’t care, it’s freeing to come home to someone who understands you and makes everything else worthwhile.
