Groove Expedition Title Badge Be Free, Take Two

Today I’ve uploaded the revised take of “Be Free.” The only thing remaining intact from the original version is the bass line. The rhythm guitar is the same chord progression and strum pattern, but I’ve changed the amp and effects from the original flanged sound to a more distorted but straight sound. The percussion has been changed from a pre-recorded drum loop to live hand percussion. I dislike lyrical lines that get repeated many times in a row, so I changed the refrain from a repeat of one line to four different lines. I added a synthesizer pad sound to the background of the solo sections. It’s a vocal effect that I think works well with the wah sound of the lead guitar. The lead is completely different in sound and melody. I took it from a clean effect to a distorted, delayed effect, with even more wah than before. I also added the switch from playing a melody lead to the swelling chords behind the refrain.

The song is still as simple as it was before, but this is a much better rendition of it. I hope you enjoy it.
