Groove Expedition Title Badge Something Fine, Take Two

This week’s update is a new song upload – the completed revision of “Something Fine” for the rock album, “What We Were Missing.” It’s essentially the same song as the demo version, but with instrument updates to bring it in line with my current set list. The percussion has changed from a recorded drum loop to hand percussion instruments. The rhythm guitar is the Fernandes Sustainer with some distortion. The lead guitar is the Sustainer in harmonic mode, with an overdriven blues effects chain. And I’ve added some synth as background fill.

The lyrics are about someone I’ll refer to from here on as The Muse, since she inspired me to start making music again and keeps me motivated to continue. It’s about the little things that attract me or make me feel better, how the relationship is special, and that we need to make the effort to keep it special.
