Happy Ending Today I’ve uploaded another track for the downtempo/trip-hop album, Mysterious Unions. This one’s called, “Happy Ending.” It started out as a piece of guitar music that I may use on a rock song in the future, but once I got it into Ableton Live, it went in a completely different direction. It has a happy mood, which along with the theme of all the song titles, inspired the title.
The backbone is a drum loop and simple bass line. Supporting that is a jazz organ and synth sound. The lead is a distorted guitar, with two electric piano arpeggios that come in under it. The percussion accent is a cajon, which is essentially a wooden box that you sit on and play with your hands like bongos or congas.
